Division One
With Narberth seemingly not at full throttle on Saturday, Cresselly were presented with the Division One championship on a plate.
Before the final games of the season, just three points separated Cresselly at the top of the table from Carew in second place.
An exciting two-horse race looked in prospect, being played down to the wire and finishing at roughly 7.30 pm, but the match at Cresselly was all over, done and dusted before 4 pm and the players had even gone off for tea in between the two innings.
It brought this year's Division One championship to something of a farcical end and, as Simon Cole, the Cresselly skipper, said to Observer Sport after receiving the prized James Morris Memorial Cup from county chairman Trevor Evans: "It has taken the shine off things really."
Narberth were bowled out for 115 with lower order batsmen Marc Hughes (32) and Ben Hughes (27), the only two players to top the 20 mark.
