Division One The match of the day at Cresselly ended in a draw when Cresselly skipper Lyn Richards played out the last over bowled by Rhys Davies with the Cresselly team on a145 for nine in reply to a Carew total of 222 for five. Carew openers Brian Hall and Nick Scourfield had an opening stand of 86 which ended when Scourfield was caught by Lyn Richards off Ryan Lewis for 32, an innings which included six fours. Hall went on to score 72 with nine fours during a partnership of 71 for the third wicket with Simon Wood who scored 34. Both batsmen were out from successive deliveries bowled by Lyn Richards and the dismissal of both players resulted in the scoring rate declining despite an undefeated knock of 37 by Tim Hicks. Lyn Richards finished with three for 35 for Cresselly who were unable to build decent partnerships until Richard Harris and wicket keeper Neilson Cole combined in a seventh wicket partnership of 67. Harris scored 39 with seven fours and Cole scored 26. Earlier in the innings Simon Cole scored 27 and Damian Arthur 18. For Carew Tim Hicks took three for 31, Rob Scourfield three for 25 and Rhys Davies two for 36. Narberth came close to upsetting the form book, chasing a Neyland total 189 for eight. The visitors had been 163 for three but the clatter of wickets resulted in the Narberth team putting up the shutters to close on 184 for nine. Skipper Richard Adams led by example with an innings of 78 which included 11 fours, Tom Richards had a brisk innings of 48 before being run out and Marc Hughes scored 38. For Neyland spinner Phil Davies took three for 38 and Jeremy Charles three for 50. Earlier in the afternoon, Neyland skipper Andrew Miller had held his team's innings together with 79 from 99 deliveries before being bowled by Ben Quartermaine. Opener Scott John scored 28 and the up and coming Ashley Sutton 24. There were also 22 extras. Ben Quartermaine was the pick of the Narberth bowlers with four for 46. At Lawrenny the visitors Haverfordwest scored 179 for seven. Middle order batsman Phil Kirkby scored 63 and opener Karl Rhead 44. Lawrenny skipper Steve Lewis took two for 27 and James Buckle two for 25. Lawrenny made good progress in attacking the Haverfordwest total but the innings closed on 155 for six as the Lawrenny batsmen were unable to break free of the shackles imposed by town skipper Nick Dyer in a one for 16 spell from 12 overs. James Buckle scored 40, Steve Lewis 35 not out, Christian Phillips 25 and opener Andrew Cole 23. Spinner Clive Tucker took three for 21 for the visitors. St Ishmaels had a comfortable six wickets win at home to a depleted Llangwm team who were bowled out for 85. William Beresford top scored with 35 before being bowled by Andrew Palmer and Huw Brock scored 19. Andrew Palmer, on his return after recovering from food poisoning took six for 23 and James Salter two for 22. Tish won in the 21st over with a total of 86 for four. Stewart Kimpton scored 30 and Andrew Williams 20 not out. Whitland have moved up to third place behind the leaders Haverfordwest and second placed Neyland, following their seven wickets win away to bottom club Burton who were bowled out for 142. Burton opener Richard Hayman scored 56 and Martin James 25 as teenager Carl Smith took five for 32. Paul Davies with 30 not out and wicket keeper Steve Fraser with 48 not out, an innings which included three sixes and six fours had an unbroken match winning fourth wicket partnership of 78 to capitalise on the good work of openers David Lee with 34 and Paul Webb with 28. Sixteen year old leg spinner Morgan Scale took three for 29 for the Burton team. Division Two Carew Seconds held on to second place in the table with a five wickets win at home to Herbrandston who were dismissed for 182. The visitors batted consistently with Kristan Bennett scoring 38, Ryan Davies 26, Nathan Banner 25 and Leigh Marchant 23. Kerry Waters took three for 37 and Steve Ive three for 44. Ian Sefton playing his first game of the season after his injury opened the innings for the Carew team and scored 27 in support of contributions made by Adrian Harries of 46,Steve Ive of 35 and Ben Evans of 31. Kristan Bennett took two wickets for the visitors. Pembroke lost away to league leaders Hook after being bowled out for 140 which represented something of a recovery after the Pembroke team had been 89 for eight. Rob Weston with 51 not out and Danny Williams with 18 had a ninth wicket partnership of 45 and earlier opener Jeremy Smith scored 30. Thirteen year old leg spinner Jack Britton making his first team debut took five for 56 for Hook who won by six wickets upon reaching 144 for four. Martyn Rees was 66 not out and Ben Field had a cameo innings of 38. Perry Phillips took two for 29 and was one of eight bowlers used by the visitors. Third placed Saundersfoot scored 202 for seven at home to Johnston who were held to 175 for four in reply. Jason Llama was in fine form for Saundersfoot with 77 not out including 12 fours backed up by another young player, Danny Caine with 40 and the experienced Paul Morris with 34. Simon Williams and Steve Mills junior both had a brace of wickets for Johnston. Steve Mills junior was also on form with the bat, scoring 52, Mike Davies was 50 not out and John Summons scored 22. Spinner Simon Stanford took three 43. In other Division Two matches, Llechryd were bowled out for 81 at Fishguard after the home team had recovered from 60 for five to reach 168 for eight and at Haverfordwest, the visitors Llanrhian won by 37 runs after bowling out Haverfordwest Seconds for 167 in reply to a Llanrhian total of 204 for six. Division Three The leaders, Cresselly seconds had a five wickets win away to promotion rivals Whitland Seconds after holding the home team to 178 for seven. Meyrick Rowlands dominated the Whitland scorecard with an innings of 95 not out which included one six and 14 fours and had support from Shane Morgan with 26 and Jonathan Thomas with 20. Teenagers Sam Harts and Jack Murphy took three for 33 and two for 23 respectively. The visitors won in the last over and a former Whitland player Nick Davies had a match winning innings of 80 after surviving a chance off his first ball. Rhydian Rees also batted well and hit 11 fours in his innings of 59. Lamphey were bowled out for 148 at home to St Ishmaels Seconds who won by eight wickets upon reaching 150 for two. Lower order batsman Grant Cole scored 33 not out to boost the Lamphey total and there were useful contributions of 29 from skipper Paul White and of 23 by fellow opener Peter McGilloway. Paul Palmer took four for 29 for the visitors, spinner Daniel Flynn three for 33 and Rob Thomas three for 39. An unbroken third wicket partnership of 120 took the Tish team to victory with Phillip Cockburn finishing on 68 not out and Daniel Flynn on 60 not out. Kilgetty were bowled out for 168 at Pembroke Dock. Grant James top scored with 47 including nine fours supported by Anthony Bevan with 28 and Graham Jenkins with 26. Spinner Jason Coles took six for 39 and there were two wickets each for Dock skipper Nicky Daley and Jamie White. In reply Pembroke Dock scored 172 for eight to win by two wickets. Peter Kingdom led the way with 34 backed up by Mohammad Khan with 29. Richard Gwyther took three for 23 and Brian Slate had two wickets for the visitors. The visitors Hundleton held out for a draw at 130 for seven chasing a Camrose and Spittal total of 179 for seven. In the Camrose and Spittal innings Phil Rees scored 71 and Malcolm Arnold 26 as Liam Williams took four for 42 for the visitors supported by Nigel Arthur with three for 28. When Hundleton replied, Jonathan Williams scored 37 but the only other innings of note came from John Tysoe with 16. Malcolm Arnold took three for 38 and Phil Rees two for 33. Division Four Narberth Seconds maintained pressure on league leaders Crymych with a five wickets win at home to Neyland Seconds who were bowled out for 154. Lee Summons scored 47 and Paul Miller 23 for the visitors. Most of the other batsmen had problems dealing with the spin of Nick Evans who took five for 35 and Mathew Johns who took four for 20. It was an exciting finish with the Narberth team getting a winning score of 155 for five off the last ball of the match. Opener Wayne Howells playing his first game for a number of seasons following long term injury scored 46, Neil Rossiter supported with 30 and Will Davidson was there at the end with 36 not out. Lee Summons took two for 27 for the visitors. Manorbier had the better of a drawn match away to Pembroke Seconds after building up a total of 196 for seven in a match sponsored by Aker Solutions EC Limited. The total was inflated by a disproportionate number of extras with 26 wides included in the extras total of 42. With the runs off the bat, Justin Evans scored 57, Neil Powling 27 and Keith May 19. Sam Williams took four for 53 for the Pembroke team who secured a draw with a total of 129 for six. Luke Butler scored 30 with five fours and Hugh Davies 29. Neil Powling took for 28 for the visitors. Lawrenny Seconds had a seven wickets win away to Llangwm Seconds who scored 145 for two. Sean Waller was 47 not out and Martyn Thomas 31 not out whilst Ian Gow scored 38 earlier. Lawrenny reached 146 for three in reply. John Fuller had a match winning innings of 63 with seven fours and one six backed up by Steve Campbell who scored 37. Zoe Davies took two for 24. Division Five Cresselly Seconds held on for a draw against league leaders Hook Seconds who had scored 152 for seven. Mathew Holder was the main contribuoitr to the total with 60 supported by Samantha Rossiter with 50. Paul Guest took three for 32 and Iwan Izzard three for 25. In reply Cresselly Thirds made the game safe with a total of 109 for seven with the experienced Steve Davies scoring nearly half the runs in his innings of 40. Whitland Thirds had a seven wickets win at home to Burton Thirds who were bowled out for 48 as Ashley Evans took four for 14 and Barry Rees three for 16. Peter Wright scored 16 not out as the Whitland team got to a winning total of 49 for three. Narberth Thirds were dismissed for the low total of 41 away to Herbrandston Seconds with Joel Davies being the only batsman in double figures with 11. Johnnie Lewis took six for 14 and Mike Williams two for 17 for the home team who reached 44 for three in reply to win by seven wickets. Mike Williams was the only batsman in double figures with 18 and he finished the game with a six and a four. Alun Phillips took three for 16 for the visitors. Carew Thirds scored 160 for seven at home to St Florence. All rounder Aled Davies scored 55 not out with 12 fours and Mark Hicks 42 supported by Martyn Cole with 18 not out. For the Saints, Ben McDonnell took three for 50 and Geraint Lewis two for 33. Peter Hall was looking forward to playing against his former colleagues at the new Tony Scourfield Memorial Ground. As usual he opened the innings and the first ball he faced was from his old team mate Martyn Cole who bowled Hall first ball! The visitors did not really recover despite the efforts of Adam Johns with 33 as Martyn Cole took four for four, fourteen year old Oliver Cole three for 32 and Joe Kidney three for 13. Division Six Kilgetty Seconds scored a huge total of 230 before being bowled out at home to Lamphey Seconds who were bundled out for 41 in reply. Mike Beynon led the scoring with 61 backed up by Jamie Morgan with 50 and Rob Beynon with 34. Maldwyn Llewellyn took five for 47 for the Lamphey team. Only two Lamphey batsmen got into double figures. Skipper Chris Forth was 14 not out and Jonathan Mathias scored 13. Adam Evans was the pick of the Kilgetty bowlers with three for five. Hundleton Seconds were bowled out for 75 at home to Fishguard Seconds as Ben Wilson took five for 29 for the visitors. Steve Williams was the main contributor to the Hundleton total with 31. John de Groot dominated the Fishguard innings with 54 not out as the visitors passed the Hundleton total without losing a wicket. Pembroke Dock Seconds held on for a draw by the skin of their teeth away to Haverfordwest Fourths who reached a total of 153 for eight. Colin Slater top scored for the Haverfordwest team with 93 not out supported by Ashley James with 38. All rounder John Coles took four for 32 for the Dock and then proved the match saviour with 18 not out in a Dock total of 74 for nine. Mark Hicks took three for 16 and Rishi Ranjan two for six.
