Local councillors could seek the assistance of Pembrokeshire County Council's head of building maintenance services, Mr. Brian Maddocks, in a bid to improve Tenby's railway station. The possibilty of liaising with Mr. Maddocks was discussed at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council after a letter was received from South West Wales Community Rail Partnership officer, Mr. Mark Youngman. Clr. Mike Evans told his colleagues that he had spoken to Mr. Maddocks and he would be willing to show support. "Let's see what county council can do with regards to the station; maybe they can stimulate Network Rail into a general clean-up," said Clr. Evans, who also pointed out that Mr. Maddocks had suggested looking at voluntary groups to help with a tidy-up. Councillors agreed to write to Mr. Maddocks, with Deputy Mayor, Clr. John Griffiths, stating that he was always available for discussions.
