Saundersfoot Community Council are working ‘towards a solution’ after it was flagged-up at their recent meeting that the area adjacent to the first entrance gate of the village’s new play park has become very muddy.

The play park located alongside the Sports and Social Club, opened in December, with several councillors, led by Vice Chairman Dean Ludlow, overseeing the project, gaining funding from the Community Lottery fund, Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant.

The park equipment now includes a wheelchair/pushchair accessible roundabout, a basket swing and woodland trail as well as slides, swings, climbing frames and other exciting play equipment.

A recent report by Clr. Ludlow on behalf of the Play Park task and Finish Group to the Community Council, explained that a notice has now been erected at the facility, advising that the Community Council are working towards tackling the muddy area.

With a price for works received, but greater than expected, Clr. Sefton proposed that two further quotations be sought, to the same specification, and if agreeable to members, the Community Council approve to the spend to a specified amount; to ensure the works are not held up and the entrance made safe for the users of the park.

The report also stated that the group that donated £1,335, had requested that three picnic tables (of various sizes) be purchased with the funds.
