Tenby councillors have given the thumbs up for fellow members to choose a design for a skate park in the town.

At the previous meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, revealed that two of the four skateboard specialists that the council had been in touch with over designing a possible facility at the Salterns site, had submitted sketches for consideration.

At their latest meeting on Tuesday, members asked if they could set a deadline for the other designers to submit their proposals.

Clr. Mike Evans, however, felt that the council should choose one of the designs that they had already received and proceed with submitting a full planning application to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

"We can go with one design for now to get the ball rolling and always go back and look at the other designs down the line," he explained.

Members were happy to delegate the decision on a design to Clr. Evans, Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans, and the town clerk.
