County Councillor Wynne Evans has written formally Dyfed Powys Police highlighting issues of concern in Narberth. Clr. Evans, who represents the town on Pembrokeshire County Council, said he was 'delighted' to have attended the launch of the new Narberth Neighbourhood Police Forum, but was 'disappointed' at the lack of people in attendance. "It was such an important meeting which can only benefit the community," he said. "At the meeting, we were able to welcome our new neighbourhood officer Jackie Howells and new police community support officer Dave Henry," he continued. "I have now written to Dyfed Powys Police asking that illegal parking, especially by non-residents in St. James Street, Northfield Road and High Street be looked at, especially as the town benefits from a free car park. "I am also asking that officers look into the abuse of disabled parking bays by non-blue badge holders, as well as the problems caused by blocking of disabled dropped kerbs, an increase of vandalism and late night rowdiness in the town, and constant joy-riding in the car park in evening. "I am sure with the appointment of these new officers the community will get much reassurance and make the town a even better place to live or work in," he added.
