Calls for Tenby Town Council to lead the way in the next stage of the enhancement scheme for the walled town have been made this week. Clr. Mike Evans, who represents the resort's south ward on Pembrokeshire County Council, proposed that the council meet with representatives of local groups and start formulating a joint plan for the enhancement of Tudor Square. "It is very important for the people of Tenby to get a good input into the final design," he said at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council. "We need to move this forward and as the town council we need to be the leading role," he added. The matter will be put on the agenda at the council's next meeting for further discussion. FOOTNOTE: Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter, congratulated Pembrokeshire County Council on the 'excellent' work done on the enhancement scheme in High Street and their 'efficiency' in completing it by Easter. Clr. Evans also pointed out that the enhancement work at Candy Corner was expected to re-start next week.
