Tenby councillors have agreed to show their support for the town's PCSOs by attending more of the public forums that are held by the police service at Augustus Place Community Centre.

A letter from former Tenby councillor John Griffiths, who at one time was a chief superintendent with the Hong Kong police force, was brought before the town council on Tuesday, reminding them that the meetings took place on the first Wednesday of every month and that he was disappointed that no councillor had attended any during the past 12 months.

"I'll hang my head in shame on this, and we all should; Mr. Griffiths is perfectly correct, we should attend as many of these meetings as we can," said Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, who put forward her name to attend the next meeting.

The town clerk also pointed out that the town now had a new police chief, with Insp Tim Hoad, who was previously stationed in Llanelli, taking over the role on Monday.
