An ex-mayor of Tenby has been praised for the research and work he is putting in to updating a 'Roll of Honour' book at Tenby's St. Mary's Church, remembering locals who lost their lives in battle.

A letter from John Griffiths in last week's Observer asked if any readers had first-hand knowledge or documentary evidence of any omissions/errors in the Roll of Honour, which is is to be renovated as part of a project to mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

"I commend Mr. Griffiths on his research and work. The letter he wrote that was published stirred many memories and I sincerely hope that anyone who can help on this project replies to him or the town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, at the town council offices," commented Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
