Sir,
As parents we try to teach our children 'respect.' It would seem that our councillors have failed to learn that lesson - they do not respect either the wishes of the people they are supposed to represent, nor yet the frail, elderly people who will be affected by their plan to re-site the waste recycling plant immediately adjacent to Brooklands.
I can only think their motive to stand for election is the somewhat dubious honour of being called councillor and the quite attractive allowance and expenses on offer. The huge public objection to this move must surely convince them that this plan is not acceptable to their constituents.
Perhaps the signatures of the very many people who have expressed dissatisfaction with this plan will convince them that they really should think again in this matter.
