Pembrokeshire County Council has engaged a company called King, Sturge Ltd. to carry out a survey of 15 per cent of all council houses in Pembrokeshire.
The survey is aimed at developing long term improvement programmes for housing stock.
Properties have been randomly selected and tenants affected will receive a letter to inform them that their property will be surveyed.
All surveyors will carry a letter from the council stating that they are authorised by the council and they will also carry company identification.
A separate company, 'CMS Investigations Ltd.', is also visiting council tenanted properties in Pembrokeshire and offering to carry out surveys. This company is not acting on behalf of the council and has no connection with the authority.
Tenants are requested to co-operate with the survey being undertaken on the council's behalf by King Sturge Ltd. and are advised to check identification carefully before allowing access to their home.
