A number of organisations and events held in Narberth are to benefit from financial grants awarded by the town council.

At their monthly meeting on Tuesday night, members agreed to donate £500 to the town's Civic Week, which will take place from July 25-31 and will feature 70 attractions.

A grant of £300 was made to Narberth in Bloom, while donations of £150 each are to be given to Narberth Christmas Festival, Narberth Show and the town's Winter Carnival.

In addition, Whitland and District ATC are to receive £25, as a thank you for taking part in the town's civic parade, while the same amount is to be given to Pembrokeshire YFC, Childline Cymru/Wales, Citizens Advice Bureau, Dyfed Victim Support and All Pembrokeshire Cruse Bereavement Care.

Further donations of £1,500 each for Bloomfield Centre, the Queen's Hall and Narberth Museum, plus £500 for the Friends of Narberth Swimming Pool, which have already been precepted for, will also be made.
