Nominations for the forthcoming Pembrokeshire County Council and Town and Community Council elections open today (Friday).
Nominations will be received throughout the whole of the following week between 9 am and 5 pm in Committee Rooms 1 and 2 at County Hall, Haverfordwest, up until noon on Friday, April 4.
County Hall will also be open tomorrow (Saturday) to receive nominations.
The Statements of Persons Nominated - showing who is standing in each election - will be displayed at County Hall and on the Pembrokeshire County Council website - http://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk">www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk - (see the Use It, Don't Lose It pages) as soon as possible after the close of nominations.
Candidates have until noon on Wednesday, April 9, to withdraw their nominations should they wish. Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, May 1, between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm.
Should anyone be away from home on that date they may apply for a postal or proxy vote. The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5 pm on Wednesday, April 16. Postal votes will then be sent out, via first class post, from Thursday, April 17. The deadline for a proxy application is 5 pm on Wednesday, April 23.
The verification of ballot papers will take place following the close of the polls on May 1, with the counting of ballot papers taking place during the course of Friday, May 2.
The declaration of results will be displayed on the Pembrokeshire County Council website as they are announced at the count centre at Withybush, Haverfordwest.
