Local councillors are looking at a number of schemes around Tenby that they hope a local youth group can take on as part of a project.

The VIP 12 Pathways group, which consists of students from Greenhill School, recently wrote to the council asking if there were any projects they could give their time to.

At their meeting on Tueday night, members suggested a number of possible projects the pupils could undertake, including work to spruce up Castle Hill, along with work that needs to be carried out by the town's cemetery and on a lane near The Norton.

Clr. Mike Evans also suggested that funds could possibly be acquired from the 'Tidy Towns' scheme that the Welsh Assembly Government initiated back in 2008, as the initiative was drawing to a close and funds were still available for communities across the county.

The town clerk said that he would contact Pembrokeshire County Council's Tidy Towns co-ordinator, Michael Harries, on the funding matter.

Clr. Trevor Hallett also said that Tenby's new cemetery was in desperate need of a tidy up and the cemetery committee resolved to meet to discuss a plan of action.
