A street trader who set up a stall selling hot dogs in the centre of Tenby has incensed local councillors, who believe now that the time has come to clamp down on 'pedlars' coming into the town. At Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane told her colleagues that the hot dog seller who was in the town over the recent Easter weekend highlighted the issue and how matters had gone too far. "If this is allowed to continue, then it surely can't be long before other businesses like that decide to come into the town and start setting up their own food stalls," she said. "We've got to come to some solution; it's annoying the rate payers of the town and it's got to be stopped," she added. The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told councillors that he had spoken to Marc Owen, head of street care for Pembrokeshire County Council, on the matter, and he had informed him that the hot dog salesman had not been authorised with any licence. Mr. Owen also said he would be happy to meet with the town council and Inspector Russel Smith, of the local police authority, to discuss the issue of street pedlars.
