Not the perfect start to the league fixtures, with one team cancelling on the night, another postponing and one result not received.
In the A League, last year's winners, the Angel Narberth A, entertained last year's B League winners, the Bush Robeston, and then gave them a whitewash (nice welcome that was).
The RFC Otters and the RAOB B (both promoted from last year) produced a good match, with the RFC taking the match by winning the last two doubles. The Parcylan A side struggled at home to Lawrenny Arms, losing by the odd leg, while the local derby saw the RAOB A and Farmers locked at three-apiece and then Buffs took all the doubles.
The team who couldn't raise a side were the Angel Llan, meaning that the Ivy Bush A picked up a 5-0 win. (Hope the boys can sort themselves out).
The B League saw a mixed night for the Alpha teams, with the A side knocking in a 9-0 against newcomers, the Eagle, while the B team lost 8-1 at Whitland Sports (but this is only hearsay, as I have not received the sheet).
There was a fine win for the Angel Narberth B against a good side from the Taf, while the final result saw the Dragon A chalk up a 6-3 win at home to the Glandy Cross, who only had five players.
The match between the Plash and Dragon B was postponed due to the Dragon players being short that week.
Achievements on the night came from Jeff Jones (RFC) 21 darts, Steve Pallas (RAOB A) 180 and Barry Llewellyn (RAOB A) 19 darts.
Results (1001 and masters in brackets) were as follows:
A League: Parcylan A 4 Lawrenny Arms 5 (M/1001); Ivy Bush A 5 (M/1001) Angel Llan 0 (claimed); RFC Otters 5 (M/1001) RAOB B 4; RAOB A 6 (M/1001) Farmers 3; Angel Narberth A 9 (M/1001) Bush Rob 0.
B League: Alpha A 9 (M/1001) Eagle 0; Taf 4 (1001) Angel Narberth B 5 (M); Dragon A 6 (M/1001) Glandy 3; Whitland Sports v Alpha B (score not known); Plash v Dragon B (postponed).
