Olivia Harries has just returned from Honduras, Central America, where she spent the summer taking part in a Coral Cay Conservation expedition, an organisation set up to protect and survey the endangered coral reefs in underdeveloped countries.
She was based on Roatan, an island off Honduras, where she obtained her Padi open water diving and advanced open water diving qualification, which enabled her to partake in surveys of the coral reef.
For this project she had to raise £2,500 and did this by raffles, bucket collections, a sponsored swim and donations.
Olivia would like to thank everyone, from friends, family, local businesses and organisations, for their support, without which she would not have had this opportunity.
She is now off to further her studies at Chester where she will be taking a degree in Animal Science, specialising in behaviour and welfare.
