Continued concern over the erosion of sand at Tenby's South Beach has prompted town councillors to call for an update from Pembrokeshire County Council.

"I know we have spoken about the loss of sand on the South Beach several times," Clr. Philip Crockford commented at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.

"There have been a number of complaints in recent weeks about the state of the beach. I know when we met with the county council at the start of the year they said they would monitor the situation and would report back to us in September, but could we have a progress report?" he asked.

"There are other places in the country where sand has been put back on beaches very successfully; it might be something which could be considered here."
