Confusion has arisen over the issue of 'off-street' parking for residents living within Tenby's town walls.
Last week, the Observer reported that Pembrokeshire County Council had offered members of TWTRA (Tenby Walled Town Residents' Association) free parking in a selection of Tenby car parks, including the multi-storey and Butts Field, during this summer's pedestrianisation scheme.
This week, Mr. Martin Lamb, of TWTRA, clarified the situation, explaining that it was true that the county council had approached the association for information.
"They suggested that all those residents with off-street parking could be offered free parking in PCC run car parks and they wanted an indication of how many would qualify," he said. "Our estimate is that there are over 180 off-street parking spaces within the walled town.
"We hope the council's suggestion will still stand when they learn of this figure.
"Rather than reserving actual bays, which may or may not be taken up by residents and displace visitors, TWTRA suggests residents with off-street parking are given permits which entitle them to free parking in any of the PCC run car parks," he added.
