A group of people united by their passion for music have raised nearly £5,000 to provide support and end of life care to families in Pembrokeshire.

A concert, initiated by Pembrokeshire GP, Dr. Helena Richards, attracted a capacity audience at Folly Farm, raising £4,950 for the Paul Sartori Foundation.

The concert, entitled 'Mirror Image', featured musicians who teach music in Pembrokeshire and some of their pupils.

Dr. Richards's sister, Lisa Shelmerdine-Richards, a music teacher at Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest, helped to stage the concert.

She said it could never have been the success it was without the support of sponsors.

"We were overwhelmed by the support we have been given and we can't thank enough our sponsors and the people who attended the concert,' she said.

"We are also enormously grateful to the peripatetic music teachers. It was an opportunity for them to showcase what amazing musicians they are.'

Last year, the Paul Sartori Foundation helped around 844 people with home nursing care, bereavement support, a home equipment loan service, complementary therapy and a stand-by service.

Foundation trustee, Sara Alderman, said the home nurse care services provided a total of 17,589 hours of care.

"As the service expands it is called upon more and more and the cost inevitably is rising. All of the services are provided free of charge thanks to the generosity of the people of Pembrokeshire. We are very grateful to people who are able to raise money for us, it enables this service to continue.'
