When one drives into Tenby, Pembrokeshire's seaside 'gem,' on a quiet barmy summer evening and then catching a glimpse of the South Beach with a calm sea of azure blue, the image is one of total peace and tranquillity.

This peace and tranquillity was echoed at St. Mary's Church on the evening of Tuesday, May 29, when Tenby Male Choir gave (as always) a very polished performance at a concert in aid of the Pembrokeshire Charity HOPE Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre Neyland. The concert was a tribute to the late Mrs. Iris Terry, a founder member who over the years from 1984 to July 13, 2011, became a much-loved Matriarch of HOPE.

The large audience consisting of visitors from many parts of the UK, plus very welcome visitors, who had travelled from Australia and Hawaii. The plaudits given after every item was a reflection of the obvious enjoyment they felt with a varied programme of Welsh hymns, classical music and pieces from well-known musicals; an overall performance of choral excellence.

The young soloist Lily Whitehurst gave a very professional and skilful performance of classical music and excerpts from musicals, showing great flair and exuberance.

The HOPE chairman, Ken Brombley, thanked everyone concerned for their help and support.

The total proceeds from this concert exceeded £1,200, which will help the charity with their mission, 'To better the lives of those people with M.S.'
