Town councillors have asked that plans for construction work taking place in Tenby's South Parade be brought to a future meeting, after locals raised concerns regarding the development encroaching on areas of the War Memorial.
Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown raised the matter, explaining that 'eagle-eyed' locals had pointed out that the new pathway being built by the developers of the former Delphi building, linking Upper Park Road to the South Parade, had seen the removal of a memorial bench behind the cenotaph.
"Locals are concerned and worried about this, so we need to ask some questions on their behalf about aspects of this development," said Clr. Mrs. Brown, suggesting that they invite the developer to speak to the council at a future meeting.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, agreed and asked for the item to go on the agenda for the next meeting, with Clr. Mike Evans further proposing that the plans for the application be brought to the table for viewing.
