A site meeting is to be called to thrash out flooding problems at one of Narberth's popular rural walking areas. Pollution protection officers are currently taking readings and recording levels of iron oxide and other substances from the old tip sited near at Carding Mill Lane. "Clearly, everyone must be aware of the levels before a site meeting," said county councillor, Wynne Evans, when he brought the matter to the attention of his fellow town councillors. Clr. Evans is hoping that a capital sum will be invested to improve the area and combat the long- standing drainage problems. It is hoped that the meeting will take place either later this month or early March. Footnote: Narberth Town Council received letters of concern about the flooding at the location from Narberth CP School and the Senior Citizens Club when they met on Tuesday. It was agreed that copies of the letters be sent to the county council.
