Lara Evans from Kilgetty has become the first member of the Computer Homework Club at Stepaside School to be awarded the New CLAIT certificate. Lara has been attending the club which is a joint project, taught by Learning Pembrokeshire tutor Dawn Macphail and funded by Pembrokeshire Youth Service. She has been a member of the club since September 2002 and sat her first exam in January 2003. To qualify for the award she had to complete five units. Lara completed six - Using a Computer; Word Processing; Spreadsheets; Graphs; Desk Top Publishing and Computer Art. She is now working to add additional units - Power-point (presentation graphics) and Database. The club meets at Stepaside School every Wednesday from 5 - 6.30 pm. New members are welcome and it is free.
