Sir,

I have been coming to Tenby for holidays regularly for 40 years. I was very alarmed to find that last year we could not drive to and from our flat in the afternoon. Having spoken to many of the tradespeople in the town about how awkward this was, I discovered that they were inconvenienced far more than us and I assumed that the scheme was doomed to failure.

I have just discovered from a recent visit to Tenby that the council are going to increase the period over which this scheme operates which seems complete madness.

I love Tenby and I am quite happy to put up with the inconvenience of traffic-filled roads - Tenby has always been like that.

Perhaps the council do not realise that Tenby competes with many other holiday destinations. I drive from Suffolk to get to Tenby and if I have to drag my luggage half-a-mile to my destination after an eight-hour drive again, I just shan't come.

If I want a café culture, it is easier and less stressful to go to France. I come to Tenby because it is a typical Pembrokeshire coastal town - why does anyone want to change this?
