A big thank you has been given to the community of Kilgetty after £1,740 was raised for the mental health charity Mind Pembrokeshire.
In recent months, both the Kingsmoor Sports and Social Club and The White Horse Inn situated in the village of Kilgetty, have held quiz nights, raffles, live music events for fun and fundraising towards Mind which supports the people of Pembrokeshire.
One of the charity nights held in December was in memory of Dilwyn Davies of Hill Lane, who passed away a year ago.
Dilwyn was described as the ‘heart of the village’ and was quizmaster for years, raising over £12,000 for charity down the years.
On the night dedicated to Dilywn, the White Horse Inn posted on Facebook:
“It was exactly as Dilwyn would have wanted. We wanted this night to be the best, flamboyant, amazing night we have ever had in remembrance for a great man who helped and loved everyone so deeply.”
A spokesperson for Mind said: “£1740.00 raised - what an amazing total!”
“This village has been a generous supporter of Mind Pembrokeshire for so many years arranging bank holiday events, football games and more.
“We’re so grateful to you all, we really appreciate you, thank you for your continued support!”
