All Aboard! Waverley, the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, returns to Pembrokeshire today (June 2) and will visit Tenby on Tuesday, June 24 as part of a fresh programme of cruises.

Saturday, May 31 marked 46 years to the day since Waveley first visited the Bristol Channel and South Wales in 1979. That historic visit marked the revival of a bygone era, as Waverley picked up the mantle of the legendary White Funnel Fleet, the much-loved pleasure steamers that brought joy to coastal communities until the 1960s.

Now, more than four decades later, Waverley returns to continue that proud tradition, inviting a new generation to step aboard and experience the magic of steam-powered coastal cruising.

See the renowned steamer at Milford Haven this afternoon and evening as she takes passengers on the Pembrokeshire Islands Explorer Cruise round Skokholm, Skomer, St Brides Bay and Ramsey Island.

On Saturday, June 24, there is an evening cruise from Tenby past Caldey Island and along the Pembrokeshire Coast to Milford Haven, with coaches laid on between Tenby and Milford Haven to complete the round journey from either starting point.

The trip on June 24 sails at 5.30-8.30pm, with tickets costing £40 adults and £20 children. For more information, visit www.waverleyexcursions.co.uk .
