The Tenby Project - aimed at adults who have additional needs and autism - is very much about helping and giving back to the local community.

The project is looking for new volunteers as part of its volunteer day on a Tuesday.

Volunteers go out to help around Tenby as a town, painting benches, or litter picking, tidying up their new plot (The Ground) or planting in different community gardens such as the Edible Gardens and Allen's view.

On Tuesdays, Jess (Tenby Project member and the best tea and coffee maker on Mondays) mans the stall in the Flea Market at the De Valence, selling everything for £1 or a donation, with all proceeds going to the Tenby project.

Meanwhile, Richard Cavill (Chippy), Rich and Chris will go off and do whatever is needed in our community.

Volunteer days run on a Tuesday 10am to 4pm, meeting in the Town Council office. They are led by Anne Draper, of whom Tenby Project volunteer Lauren says:

“Anne is an amazing mentor to have. If you're ever in need of a chat or need help with anything she will open doors for you and always help you. The best engagement officer and best volunteer mentor.”

“Tenby is very lucky and Tenby project is becoming the hub for Tenby,” she added.

“A little blue hall opposite Sainsbury’s is becoming a great safe place for adults to come for a chat over coffee or tea.”

To be part of the volunteer team, contact The Tenby Project via Facebook or call into the Tenby Town Council office and speak with Anne.
