The ladies of St Issell's WI had a delightful visit to Picton Castle, enjoying sunny grounds and a castle tour, despite a rainy return to Saundersfoot.
Whilst some ladies got very wet when meeting the coach, by the time of arrival at Picton Castle, near Haverfordwest, the sun was shining, and did so for the whole of the visit. Ladies enjoyed strolls round the beautiful grounds, and also a visit to the castle itself with all its history.
A delicious buffet lunch was much enjoyed, when a brief meeting also took place. Birthday wishes went to Eva Rich and Shelagh Griffin, Mary Lawrence was the competition winner, and Jeanette John won the raffle. There was some discussion regarding a possible Christmas lunch at Bramley’s, the tearooms of Grandiflora in St Florence. Val agreed to check on dates.
With the sun still shining at 3pm when ladies boarded the coach for the homeward journey, everyone agreed it had been a lovely day out and the weather had been kind. However, as they got out of the coach in Saundersfoot, the heavens opened and several ladies got wet going home.
New members are always welcome, the next meeting will be on October 9 at 7.15pm in the Regency Hall.
