ON Wednesday, October 29, Routes to Discovery were at the National Trust’s Stackpole Centre for an arty-crafty lantern making workshop - a fun session led by local artist Charlotte Cortazzi, with whom they look forward to working with more next year; they’re already hatching ideas!

The group managed to produce some fantastic work today; their creations are very impressive!

These lanterns will be used for a Bonfire Night Lantern Parade at Stackpole Walled Garden on November 5th, celebrating with other groups who have contributed towards the evening and others who get themselves along to the free event - a quiet and more nature friendly way to celebrate bonfire night.

The group had a great day and want to send a big thank you to Rebecca Evans and The National Trust for inviting them along and providing this workshop for our group, staff at The Stackpole Centre for their lovely welcome and hospitality and to Charlotte for helping each person to make an amazing hedgehog lantern.

Routes to Discovery is delivered in partnership by Mind Pembrokeshire and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. The project is all about the restorative powers of Pembrokeshire’s amazing outdoors and especially its National Park.
The Bonfire Night Lantern Parade with Sandpalace Arts is hosted by MENCAP Stackpole Walled Garden and National Trust Cymru.
Discover large wildlife lanterns in the garden. Purchase soup, hot dogs and hot drinks from the café. Learn about hedgehogs with Pembrokeshire Hogspital, and toast apples and cinnamon with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Ranger Molly.
Supported by: Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, Pembrokeshire ASD family help and Pembrokeshire Hogspital, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a safe and warm bonfire at a quieter, calmer, environmentally friendly way to celebrate bonfire night.
