REDBERTH Community Choir held a concert on Monday, July 20, and it was a huge success, proving the positive impact it’s having in the community.

Cllr Simon Hosker-Hicks said: “The church was completely full, with people even standing outside watching through the door. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, the concert raised £420.

“Perhaps the biggest success of the evening wasn't the fundraising, though. After the concert had finished, people simply stayed, chatting together outside for well over an hour. It was such a lovely sight and a reminder of exactly why the choir was started in the first place.

“The choir began with a simple idea sparked by two men leaning over a gate, wondering how they could bring people together, reduce isolation, and encourage people to get to know one another in the village. Seeing everyone enjoying each other’s company after the concert showed that this idea really is working.”
