OVER the past few months, the team at Princes Gate - the Ludchurch-based spring water company - has been actively engaging with local schools.

At Ysgol Caer Elen, colleagues joined a Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths (STEM) speed networking session organised by Careers Wales, speaking with students about careers in STEM.

The Princes Gate team also took part in a Speed Networking series at Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi, engaging with 70 Year 9 students and most recently, they supported a Careers Week at Ysgol Greenhill, delivering a workshop on careers and transferable skills for Year 12 students, highlighting the importance of communication and teamwork in the workplace.

The company continues to support swimming lessons in Pembrokeshire.

In 2022, Swim Wales reported that up to 52 per cent of children leaving primary school are unable to swim. The Long Course Weekend decided to address this challenge – and with Princes Gate’s support, is already making a positive change.

The learn-to-swim Legacy programme aims to boost the number of swimming lessons in schools and raise swimming standards across the region. At one of the participating schools, the swim pass rate rose from 8 per cent to 80 per cent in a single year! In 2026, 55 local schools are confirmed to take part, giving more than 1,000 pupils the opportunity to access structured swimming lessons.

A spokesperson said: “Being a water company, with our site based near the Pembrokeshire coast, it was a natural choice for us to support the programme, and we are proud to see such amazing results.”

So far in 2026, Princes Gate has donated 18,792 bottles of water to 26 different causes, charities, schools and community groups, including the Tenby Round Table Salt Rock events, St John’s Ambulance, and the Hywel Dda Health Charities.
