THE Pembrokeshire Scouts AGM at Haverfordwest High VC School on Saturday, October 10 celebrated the fantastic work being done by Scouts and volunteers across the county.

It was an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year and the positive impact Scouting continues to have on local communities.

Councillor Randell Thomas-Turner, Mayor of Haverfordwest, was proud to speak about the incredible contribution of the 1st Haverfordwest Scout Group, who have played such an important role in the town, from supporting its Civic Week celebrations and Haverfordwest Carnival to getting involved in the upcoming Connecting the Community initiative.

“They continue to demonstrate what community spirit, teamwork and volunteering are all about,” said the mayor, who also paid tribute to all the Scout leaders, volunteers, families and young people who demonstrate such dedication, enthusiasm and commitment throughout Pembrokeshire.

“A particularly special moment this evening was being presented with a new Scouts badge designed by Anwyn Griffiths,” he added. “Thank you, Anwen, for your fantastic design and for creating something special to represent Scouting. It’s wonderful to see the creativity and pride that goes into celebrating our Scouting community!”

Pembrokeshire Scouts commented: “It was great to see so many people coming together to celebrate another fantastic year of Scouting across the county.

“A big part of the evening was recognising the achievements of our young people who have worked hard to gain their top awards, as well as celebrating our amazing adult volunteers who received awards for their dedication and commitment to Scouting, including long service awards.

“It was also a lovely opportunity to look back at everything that's happened across Pembrokeshire Scouts over the past year and recognise just how much goes on behind the scenes to make it all happen.

“A massive thank you to all our volunteers who give up their time to make Scouting possible, and to everyone who came along last night to celebrate with us.

“Here’s to another year of adventures, opportunities and making memories!”
