Pembroke Dock Mayor Cllr Michele Wiggins lit the beacon at 9.30pm tonight (Thursday) in the century-old Memorial Park, to mark VE Day 80th Anniversary.
To lead up to the lighting ceremony, the fantastic Vision Arts choir performed a special selection of wartime songs, honouring the sacrifice and celebrating the peace that followed Victory in Europe, eight decades on.

The event was afterwards described as “wonderful.”
It followed a “lovely morning” for the raising of the VE Day 80 flag on The Pater Hall, and the coffee and cake that followed.
