The six walkers who undertook a 37-mile walk from Redberth to the Cathedral at St Davids have raised over £4,500 for Carew Group of Churches, it was announced recently.
The challenging walk, tagged ‘Our Journey’, took in St Mary’s Church, Redberth, St Mary’s Church Carew and St Michael and All Angels, Cosheston - the three churches for which funds are being raised - before culminating at St David’s Cathedral just five minutes before Evensong.
The final chapter of Our Journey closed on June 22 with a celebratory afternoon tea held at Carew Memorial Hall where the total that was raised was announced.
Rev’d Hannah Karpaty, Rob Berry, Claire Fowler, Mike Karpaty, Julie Mooney and Fern Jarrold - have raised a whopping £4,538 which is to be split between the three churches.
“We are all thrilled that we have raised such a huge figure and would like to thank everyone that sponsored us and supported us along the way,” said Fern.
