Having welcomed members to the April meeting, New Hedges WI President Ann Maggs quickly passed everyone on to the speaker, rider Elly Morgan, a member of the Pembrokeshire Group of Blood Bikes Wales.
She was assisted by other members of the team, Tim and Mike, who also brought an impressive bike for everyone to admire.
The volunteers come from all walks of life, and give an essential out of hours courier service to the NHS. After many questions, they were warmly thanked for their presentation.
Following refreshments, the business side to the meeting began. The lunch at the Jolly Sailor had been a success, and a trip to Cardigan with tea at the Cliff Hotel, Gwbert, is now planned.
All sub-committees; book, craft and walking, are ticking over nicely. The competition, an Easter themed Item, was won by Jan Evans, with a bright display of all the flowers in her garden.
Next month’s talk, on May 14, will be given by Joan Morris on ‘The Work of a Magistrate’.
You are very welcome to visit this friendly group. The WI meet on the second Thursday of the month, at 2pm, at New Hedges Village Hall.
