THE number of entries this year’s Summer Show at Llanteg was 320 and, despite the weather conditions such a challenge, gardeners across the community still worked wonders and managed to produce some amazing entries in the Produce and Floral sections.

Craft classes continue to attract more entries year on year, with the Quirky Quilters, who meet in the village hall twice monthly, boosting numbers.

The Quilters provided a display of quilts in the Committee Room, and also made and donated a beautiful quilted banner to Llanteg Village Hall, which is now on display in the main hall.

The Cookery, Preserves, Art, Photography, Children’s, Flowers, Produce and Writing and Poetry classes also continue to attract outstanding entries.

This year, the show made use of the new patio and outside seating area behind the hall, and Sam and Carol Lander deserve praise and thanks for organising and working so hard to get this ready in time for the show, along with some volunteer effort from Roy and Sue. The increase in space inside the hall, with the stage removal and new storage cupboards, expertly painted by another volunteer Ken Woodworth, proved its worth in accommodating all the exhibits.

It was heartening to see so many from Llanteg and beyond at the hall enjoying the afternoon.

Last, but by no means least, a big thank you goes to all the judges - not an easy task - and to all the exhibitors and helpers both prior to and on the day of the show.
