PAUL Sartori Hospice at Home has received a £15,000 grant from The Albert Hunt Trust to help deliver its specialist Home Nursing Care Service across Pembrokeshire.

The award continues a valued partnership that has seen The Albert Hunt Trust contribute £126,000 to the charity since 2017, helping to ensure patients with life-limiting illnesses can receive care and support in the comfort of their own homes.

The Albert Hunt Trust has confirmed its commitment to continuing support for hospices during its remaining years of operation, ensuring charities such as Paul Sartori Hospice at Home can continue delivering essential services to local communities.

Jane Deller Ray, Operations Manager, said: “The Albert Hunt trust is committed, as far as possible, to continue to provide unrestricted core funding for hospice care for the remaining years of operation and until the Trust’s entire resources have been spent. Paul Sartori Hospice at Home has received faithful support as they continue their work in Pembrokeshire.”

Paul Sartori's flexible and responsive Home Nursing Care Service provides day and night respite, rapid response support, symptom management and a 24-hour on-call service.

Working alongside health and social care professionals across Pembrokeshire, the charity helps patients remain at home with dignity and comfort, while also providing vital support to families and carers when they need it most.

During 2025/26, the charity delivered nearly 14,000 hours of hands-on nursing care, supported 1,194 patients through one or more clinical services and supplied 1,727 pieces of specialist equipment to people in their own homes across Pembrokeshire. These figures highlight the growing need for hospice-at-home services and the importance of continued charitable support.

The Albert Hunt Trust was established in recognition of the successful businessman, Mr Albert Hunt, who died in 1957. He left his business jointly to two ladies: Miss Florence I Reakes (his niece) and Miss Mary K Coyle. Miss Reakes and Miss Coyle established the Trust in Albert Hunt’s name in 1979. Miss Reakes died in 1996 and Miss Coyle in 2000. They kindly bequeathed the bulk of their estates to the Trust, providing it with a significant endowment. This enabled the trust to increase its active support of charitable causes. Since the trust was established, significant sums have been paid as grants. However, the trust will spend its entire resources by 2029.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home has been supporting people living with life-limiting illnesses in Pembrokeshire for almost 45 years, 365 days a year. Its services include home nursing care, equipment loans, physiotherapy, complementary therapies, future care planning, bereavement and counselling support, and education and training.
