Darwin Science Festival have helped gain nationally recognised science awards for members of the Tanyard Youth Project (Pembroke) and Jumping Beans Youth Project (Pembroke doack). The Crest Awards, from the British Association for the Advancement of Science, were awarded for the groups investigative science projects on beach litter on local beaches. Litter picks attended by Darwin and Keep Wales Tidy were carried out on Manorbier and Freshwater East beaches. The litter was counted and categorised on two separate weeks, the groups compared the data and made conclusions on their results.
Darwin Project co-ordinator, Marten Lewis would like to thank the groups and Keep Wales Tidy for their involvement. This InterSEED project is partly funded by ERDF Interreg, 3A project managed by WEFO.
