A community council clerk has been thanked for his excellent work during 23 years of service.
Brian Waters recently retired as clerk to St. Mary Out Liberty Community Council and was presented with an engraved silver tankard at a get-together in the New Hedges Tavern last Thursday. His wife Jenny was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Council chairman Des Brace was joined by fellow councillors David Mitchell, David Nash, with his wife Jane, and John Butland, with his wife Christine. In her capacity as vice-chairman of New Hedges Village Hall, Christine presented Brian with a bottle of whisky in thanks for all his help to the committee over the years.
Brian’s position as council clerk has now been filled by Melanie Priestley, who is also clerk to Saundersfoot Community Council.
