Monkton Village Fayre was enjoyed by many local people and visitors to the area. Organised by Communities First in conjunction with local voluntary groups, the day was packed with fun and activities, including a boxing ring where budding Scott Gammers had the chance to test their skill and strength under the guidance of Ralph Gammer while Scott signed autographs! Bongo Clive entertained both children and adults with his amazing collection of instruments, allowing everyone to have a go. Clr. Pearl Llewellyn dared to handle a Boa Constrictor, and the Monkton Salsa Dancers delighted everyone with their moves. The outdoor show by TPP Productions, 'Jack and Book Keeper' was a hit with the crowd, providing fun, energetic education. In the meantime, Communities First were able to consult with the local people on the Community Action Plan they recently put together which details work the partnership will undertake over the next couple of years in order to improve the area. This was a point taken up by Angela Burns AM, who was among those attending, along with Pembroke Mayor, Keith McKniffe, and his wife. We had a wonderful day at Monkton and it was lovely to see such great community spirit," said Mrs. Burns.  "It's really important for such events to take place; it gives everyone a chance to get to know each other and have fun." The fantastic sum of £547.88 was raised through a raffle, ice cream sales and a car boot sale, and all will go towards organising next year's fayre.
