There are lots of exciting events coming up at the Museum throughout the summer.
The current exhibition, ‘Were You There?’ showcases the soon-to-be-famous bands that played in the Queen in the 60s and 70s.
On display are the original contracts the band signed along with press cuttings detailing the local response. Were fears that the town’s youth would be corrupted borne out….? The exhibition also includes a montage of iconic images of the time.
It runs until the end of July and normal admission charges apply.
On July 11, Joe Reilly will be talking about Women in Architecture, which forms part of the WOWW project.
On July 23 the Museum will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in style with an 80s themed afternoon tea-party.
It forms part of the Civic Week celebrations and is a fundraiser. Tickets cost £7.50 to include a glass of Pimms.
Then on July 25, Terry John’s talk, ‘Warriors and Doctors’ looks at the origins of the Knights Hospitallers and their time at Slebech. The talk starts at 7.30 pm and tickets cost £5.
On Saturday, August 10, the #WOWW project, funded by Arwain Sir Benfro, the Heritage Lottery Fund and with help from Llangwm History Society, will be showcasing innovative poetry films inspired by the women of West Wales.
The event forms part of Llangwm Literary Festival and will take place at 10 am at Llangwm Village Hall.
