This Sunday, Hesed Christian Fellowship start holding evening services in the Avenue Centre, Greenhill Avenue, near Tenby Library. A new starting time of 6 pm is planned for services throughout the summer. At the core of the fellowship is a small, but dedicated band of Christians who have 'a heart for Israel and the suffering church worldwide', and are happy to share their love for God. Bible-based teaching is a mainstay of the church, which tries to practise what it preaches, by living as a caring community. The teaching is complemented by praise music that combines favourite hymns with lively arrangements and relevant, up-to-date songs from contemporary worship leaders. Services usually include a time when anyone can pray out loud or silently. As an organisation, Hesed is unique. Business decisions are made at the weekly Bible study and prayer meetings - as issues arise - and the group is financed entirely by voluntary giving, which is increased through the Gift Aid scheme. No-one ever asks for money, however: there is no 'collection' during the service. This weekend is a special occasion, and some extra friends have been enlisted for help to make sure the service becomes an enjoyable celebration. The pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, welcomes everyone in the area - visitors and locals alike - to come and join in the experience, this Sunday, at 6 pm in the Avenue Centre. Parking is available and refreshments will be served during the evening. Visit the website, http://www.hesed.co.uk">www.hesed.co.uk to find out more, or telephone the pastor on 01646 681805.
