Schools around the county saw plenty of colourful characters turn out to celebrate 'World Book Day' last Thursday. Pupils at Stepaside School dressed up as their favourite fictional heroes, with a cast that included Spiderman, Snow White and Hagrid from Harry Potter. Even the staff joined in the fun, with headteacher, Mr. Peter Griffiths, doubling up as a very convincing Demon Headmaster! Meanwhile, at St. Florence School, prizes were given for the best-dressed pupils who donned the outfits of their favourite literary characters. Winners were as follows: Reception - Abbey Bennett as Butterfly; Yr 1 - William Baker as Gandalf; Yr 2 - Owain Bennett as Under The Sea; Yr 3 - Joel Downes as Elfie The Tortoise; Yr 4 - Jessica Willis as Heidi; Yr 5 - Joe Worley as The Cat In The Hat; Yr 6 - Claire Baker as Cruella De Ville.
