Pembrokeshire College is celebrating after scooping a prestigious award at the annual FE Marketing Network Conference 2004. Pembrokeshire College, along with Coleg Sir Gâr, Swansea College, Neath Port Talbot College, Gorseinon College and ELWa beat off stiff competition from more than 200 further education colleges across the UK to win Best Collaboration for its partnership work in raising the profile of Further Education in the south west Wales area. The partnership resulted in a website, http://www.mylocalcollege.com">www.mylocalcollege.com being produced along with an extensive distribution of beer mats in order to drive traffic to the website and subsequently to the individual colleges' websites. Marketing managers for Pembrokeshire College, Coleg Sir Gâr and representatives from ELWa were among the marketing staff to attend the event, and collected the trophy and certificates on behalf the partnership. "This is a great achievement for all of the colleges involved in the partnership and it is a good recognition of the hard work put in by the team. "A lot of effort goes into collaborative campaigns and it's great to have this acknowledged by our colleagues in the sector," said principal Glyn Jones. The awards evening, organised by the FE (Further Education) Marketing Network, was held in Northampton and was part of an annual conference for marketers in the FE sector.
