A NEW charity CD featuring some of Pembrokeshire's finest young bands and DJs is being launched next month. The CD, entitled 'Creative Minds' is in aid of the Missing Wales Charity. The 72-minute CD features local bands, DJs and solo artists and has been put together by second year National Diploma Music Technology students at Pembrokeshire College. This is their final major project and they have recorded most of the tracks in the college's recording studio. One hundred CDs have been pressed and funded by Pembrokeshire College. All bases and tastes are covered in the variety of tracks, from rock, jazz, trance, drum 'n' bass, electronica and metal. The launch gig is at the Merlin Theatre, Pembrokeshire College, featuring DJ RUK, Joe Tempo, Session Head, Winch House Cutie, Devices Need Electric and Monty Pirates on Wednesday, March 14. Doors open at 12 noon, with first band on at 12.30 pm. This is, therefore, breaking the mould, as the students have chosen to have the gig in the afternoon; most gigs are generally in the evening. The gig is also open to anyone, whether you are a student or not. The gig will also feature the college's usual sound and lighting equipment. The price of the CD is £5, the price of entry to the gig is £3, but, if you go to the gig, there will be a package price of £7 for the CD and entry. Missing Wales is a charity dedicated to helping missing people, their families and those who care for them.
