Colleagues from Clynderwen CCF Limited set themselves a month-long challenge to virtually tour the 19 CCF branches across Wales, whilst raising £10,000 for charity.

The company wide fundraising challenge saw participants aim to complete the 435 miles loop by either walking, running, or cycling to get the miles.

The incredible £10,000 was raised, in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance and DPJ Foundation, after the company clocked off 1875 miles during the challenge.

Assistant trading manager, Elen Griffiths, from Ferryside, who organised the fundraiser and came up with the idea after getting into running last year.

She was keen to use her new hobby as way to raise money but also to get her colleagues involved.

She ran a total of 100 miles in May and set herself an extra personal challenge to run a metric marathon of 26.2KM at the end of the month as part of the fundraiser, which she completed in time of 2 hours and 35 minutes in Llanelli. Elen was supported by her colleague James Lamb.

Her colleague Will Hughes also did the metric marathon around Elan Valley in a time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Trading manager Richard Lewis, from Haverfordwest, has been cycling for many years and used the fundraiser as an opportunity to get back into cycling, whilst raising funds for two charities. He cycled the most with a total of 321miles.

Project manager, James Lamb, from Llanddarog, took on the challenge alongside his dog Beau and managed to walk the most with a total of 164 miles.

Wales Air Ambulance’s campaigns manager, Katie Macro said: “A huge congratulations to everyone from Clynderwen CCF, who set themselves a tough challenge to virtually visit all its bases in just one month.

“They incredibly managed to clock off a fantastic 1875 miles whilst raising vital funds for our charity and DPJ Foundation. £10,000 is a terrific amount for any company to raise and everyone should be extremely proud of themselves.

“Donations, like this one, will enable our helicopters to continue to fly and to keep our rapid response vehicles on the road. You’re all helping save lives across Wales, thank you so much.”
