On a beautiful early June morning, Tenby RNLI Fundraising Committee were lucky enough to be organising a coffee morning on the top of Northcliffe with the panorama of Tenby and its beaches laid out before us. This was all due to the kindness and hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Armour who offered to host the morning in their wonderful Huff House. Huff houses are of German origin and built in a very different way, and many of the guests took advantage of Mr. Armour's guided tours and explanations of the workings of the house. The plant room was particularly interesting and the ecological features were fascinating to all. Added to this, delicious coffee and cakes were served in the wonderful grounds of the house, and many guests were happy to spend most of the morning sitting in one of the many nooks and crannies soaking up the sun and the spectacular views. For the hard-working members of the committee, it was even a pleasure to be in the Armours' beautiful kitchen also enjoying the views - it made a change from church hall kitchens! Over £500 was raised for the RNLI, and the committee are extremely grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Armour for opening up their beautiful house for us all. Mrs. Armour even got her friends making cakes for us, which was much appreciated. The committee are now busily preparing for the strawberry tea and open-air service which will take place on Sunday, July 6, at Tenby Harbour.
