A dealer caught running cocaine into Tenby for a second time has been jailed for seven years.
James Jay Welch, aged 33, was found guilty by a jury at Swansea Crown Court on Monday of possessing 19 grams of cocaine with intent to supply.
The jury had heard how police stopped Welch's grey MG ZR car on the A48 near Carmarthen on Boxing Day, 2008.
Welch became agitated and the officers suspected he was hiding something.
He was taken to Carmarthen police station where officers found a knotted bag in his underpants. Inside the bag were five more bags each containing a quantity of cocaine.
Janet Gedrych, prosecuting, said Welch could have sold the drugs for a street value of up to £1,400.
During police interviews, Welch said the drugs were for his own use and said he took about a gram per day. He said he had spent Christmas Day in Cardiff and had been intending to spend one night in Tenby before driving home to Clydach, near Swansea.
But, said Miss Gedrych, that meant that Welch had had 20 days supply on him even though he intended being away for only one night.
Welch also told police that his dealer had supplied him on credit and that he would have paid for the drugs later.
Miss Gedrych said Welch had no income and it was the prosecution's case that he would have sold at least some of the drugs to finance the original purchase.
In addition, she added, the packages found by the police had already been divided into commonly sized deals.
The court later heard that Welch had already served a jail sentence for an almost identical offence.
