Residents concerned about the removal of cobbles in the centre of Tenby have been reassured they will be replaced.

The Observer was contacted this week after tarmac was laid instead of replacing the cobbles following work at the Cresswell Street/Tor Lane junction.

When we contacted Pembrokeshire County Council about the matter, we were told: "The cobbles in the Cresswell Street/Tor Lane junction area have only been removed as a temporary measure, as Pembrokeshire County Council is aiming to re-excavate this area in the near future for new drainage works.

"The council can assure residents that the cobbles will be replaced once that work has been completed."
